My name is Hadley. I’m a writer, poet, journalist, a reader of books, lover of coffee, and student who cares way too much about cats.
I’m an English major and mass communications minor at Piedmont College in Demorest, Georgia. I spend my days writing (and editing) for Piedmont’s student-run newspaper, The Roar, as well as running all over campus to work two jobs and still make it to class.
I’ve been writing stories and poems for as long as I’ve been able to spell. As a little girl, I dreamed of an apartment in Atlanta or New York City where I could write while looking out a window onto a skyline. My dream always has been, and always will be, to do what I love.
My first award was given to me my junior year of high school when my English teacher submitted my piece A Very Vague Story About the Moon to the state’s Young Authors Fair. I won. She decided to not tell me, and rather surprised me, at the school’s awards assembly. (But that’s another story)
Her belief in my writing, along with the love and support of my friends and family, is what has brought me here today. Everything I have accomplished goes back to each and every person who read something I wrote and told me to keep going.
Several awards and a book later, I’m sharing my work with the world and creating more content every day.
